Law360, New York (March 01, 2012, 9:36 PM ET) -- Odyssey HealthCare Inc. has agreed to pay $25 million to settle three employee whistleblower suits in Wisconsin federal court accusing the hospice care provider of submitting false claims for reimbursement from Medicare for continuous home care services that were unnecessary.
The settlement resolves allegations brought in three False Claims Act qui tam suits brought by former Odyssey employees who alleged that the company defrauded the Medicare program between January 2006 and January 2009, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
