Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 3:55 PM ET) -- A New York City Democratic senator ripped his Republican majority counterparts Tuesday for banishing a bill to outlaw job and credit discrimination against transgender people to legislative limbo despite passage of the proposed law in the Democrat-dominated State Assembly.
New York's Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act, which would prohibit discrimination against transgendered people across many facets of life while expanding New York's hate crimes law to include crimes against them, passed the Assembly on Monday in an 81-59 vote.
