Minn. Ends Last EEOC Suit Over Early Retirement Incentives

Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 3:50 PM ET) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Wednesday that it has settled the last of a series of lawsuits brought against six Minnesota state agencies regarding early retirement incentives that the EEOC claimed amounted to age discrimination.

According to the terms of the consent decree approved by a Minnesota federal judge, the Minnesota Board of Public Defense must pay a total of $53,000 to four former employees who were denied employer contributions for retiree health and dental insurance. The EEOC alleged in a complaint filed in...
