Top Republican In NY Assembly Rips Minimum Wage Hike Bill

Law360, New York (May 04, 2012, 2:18 PM ET) -- The top Republican in the New York State Assembly blasted legislation to raise the state's minimum wage from $7.25 to $8.50 per hour Friday, pushing back against majority Democrats who have put on a full-court press behind the bill.

New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb, R-Canandaigua, called the measure a "job killer" and told Law360 the bill is likely dead in the water because of opposition in the Republican-controlled State Senate.
