Texas Led The Nation In Bias Charges Last Year, EEOC Says

Law360, New York (May 15, 2012, 8:17 PM ET) -- More federal workplace discrimination charges were filed in Texas than in any other state in 2011, with 10 percent of all charges nationwide lodged there, according to state-by-state data released by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Monday.

The EEOC received a record 99,947 charges of discrimination during the 2011 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, and of those, 9,952 charges were brought in Texas, the agency said.
