Law360, New York (May 24, 2012, 12:10 PM ET) -- A group of Senate Democrats on Wednesday urged their colleagues to support the latest version of long-pending legislation to increase penalties for employers that pay women less than men for equivalent work.
Sens. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and five others pushed the Senate to vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act, a version of which cleared the U.S. House of Representatives in 2009 but later stalled out in the Senate. Mikulski reintroduced the bill last year, and again Tuesday.
