San Diego Seeks To Fast-Track Pension Reform Challenges

Law360, San Diego (June 08, 2012, 5:47 PM ET) -- Looking to speed up an overhaul of San Diego’s pension system, the city attorney on Thursday urged a California appeals court to rule on five challenges to a voter initiative to cut retirement benefits for public workers that passed earlier this week.

The San Diego Municipal Employees Association and three other unions have contested Proposition B by filing unfair labor practice claims against the city with the California Public Employment Relations Board, and the board has brought one complaint on behalf of MEA in state court....
