Law360, San Diego (December 19, 2012, 6:14 PM ET) -- The California labor commissioner has fined construction contractors FTR International Inc. and Wirtz Quality Installations Inc. nearly $1.1 million for shortchanging workers on projects in Southern California, the regulator said Monday.
Following an investigation by the state Department of Industrial Relations’ Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, FTR was ordered by commissioner Julie Su to pay about $401,000 in wages and nearly $186,000 in fines for intentionally underpaying employees building a train station platform in Los Angeles.
