NLRB Deems NYC School Bus Strike Legal

Law360, New York (February 01, 2013, 6:36 PM ET) -- The National Labor Relations Board on Friday rejected a bid by a coalition of private bus companies to put a stop to an ongoing strike by New York City school bus drivers, finding that the strike does not violate federal labor law.

An advice memorandum issued by the NLRB's office of the general counsel concluded that the strike did not run afoul of the National Labor Relations Act because the Amalgamated Transit Union has a primary labor dispute with the bus companies.
