Nortel Pans Ex-Canadian Workers Seeking Relief In US Court

Law360, Wilmington (February 12, 2013, 10:11 PM ET) -- Nortel Networks Inc., the American arm of defunct telecom giant Nortel Networks Corp., objected Tuesday to a move by former employees of its Canadian parent to file severance claims in Delaware bankruptcy court, arguing the claims are both untimely and dubiously timed.

The Canadian employees offer no justifiable reason for filing claims in the U.S. more than three years after the bar date had  passed, the objection said, and accepting their late claims would severely prejudice NNI and create a dangerous precedent.
