Seattle Escapes Suit Over Proposed $490M Waterfront Arena

Law360, New York (February 25, 2013, 5:14 PM ET) -- The city of Seattle was successful Friday in escaping a suit launched by a longshoreman union to block a proposed $490 million basketball stadium when a Washington state judge found no genuine issue of material fact among the union's claims that the arena would damage the maritime industry.

King County Superior Court Judge Doug North granted the city's motion for summary judgment against the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 19, dismissing the suit with prejudice.
