NJ Corrections Officers Sue State For Age, Race Bias

Law360, New York (March 25, 2013, 5:54 PM ET) -- The New Jersey Department of Corrections and state Civil Service Commission were recently hit with a putative class action claiming current and former corrections officers were discriminated against because of their age and race and denied proper hearings.

The six named plaintiffs, who allegedly faced retaliation because they complained of discrimination, didn't receive independent hearings because the construction of the CSC is unconstitutional, according to the March 15 complaint in state court.
