EEOC Says Chicago Eateries Refused To Hire Black Workers

Law360, Los Angeles (September 17, 2013, 9:07 PM ET) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission hit Rosebud Restaurants Inc. with a lawsuit Tuesday in Illinois federal court alleging that 10 Rosebud eateries in and around Chicago violated civil rights laws by refusing to hire African-Americans.

The EEOC says its presuit administrative investigation revealed that company managers, including Rosebud owner Alex Dana, indicated that they preferred not to hire African-Americans to work for the company.
