New GC Griffin Expected To Speed Up NLRB's Pro-Labor Push

Law360, New York (October 30, 2013, 8:13 PM ET) -- With former union attorney Richard F. Griffin Jr. confirmed to serve as the general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board, attorneys said Wednesday that they expected the expansion of union and employee protections embraced by his predecessor to accelerate.

The Senate voted to approve Griffin, a former general counsel for the International Union of Operating Engineers who served a controversial stint as a recess-appointed NLRB board member, for the general counsel position Tuesday in a vote that fell almost entirely along party lines.
