Fla. High Court Asked To Mull Workers' Comp Attys' Fee Limits

Law360, Miami (November 4, 2013, 7:04 PM ET) -- A Florida worker on Thursday asked the state's high court to declare unconstitutional a formula for calculating attorneys' fees in Florida's workers' compensation statute that awarded his attorney $164 in fees for 107 hours of legal work on his case.

Claimant Marvin Castellanos appealed an Oct. 23 ruling by the First District Court of Appeal in which the court affirmed the $164.54 awarded to Castellanos' attorneys by a judge of compensation claims in the worker's dispute with Next Door Co. and Amerisure Insurance Co.
