Judge Grants Class Action In Donning And Doffing Suit

Law360, New York (March 02, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge granted class status to a group of hourly workers in a meat processing plant Friday, opening the way for collective claims against the employer, which allegedly failed to pay wages for work-related activities in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Judge Hayden Head of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas granted the motion by a group of current and former workers at the Sam Kane Beef Processors Inc. facility in Corpus Christi, Texas.
