UBS Wins Appeal To Compel Arbitration In ERISA Case

Law360, Los Angeles (November 12, 2013, 4:42 PM ET) -- The Fifth Circuit on Monday found that a group of employees seeking a putative class action against UBS Financial Services Inc. over revoked unvested benefits must proceed with arbitration, determining that the workers’ contracts contained clear arbitration provisions.

The three-judge appellate panel ruled Monday that two separate groups of employees, branch managers and financial advisers were bound by their own signed agreements to take their disputes into arbitration, according to the decision.
