Ex-Corning Employee Admits to Stealing LCD Secrets

Law360, New York (January 18, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- A former Corning Inc. employee has pled guilty to stealing LCD trade secrets used in the production of flat screen televisions and computers and selling them to a rival business in Taiwan, hoping that the confidential information would help him land a job with the new company.

Jonathan Sanders, who worked at a Corning glassmaking plant in Harrodsburg, Ky., could receive up to five years in prison. He pled guilty on Jan. 17 to a felony charge of conspiring to commit trade secrets theft. The court...
