Retirees Sue UAW Over Missed Retirement Incentives

Law360, New York (April 30, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Retirees from a Chrysler assembly plant in Newark, Del., have sued the United Auto Workers union for allegedly causing them to lose out on a $70,000 voluntary retirement package the company offered just weeks after their departure.

Twenty-three union retirees filed the suit against the UAW and two local chapters that represented workers at the Newark plant.

The case was removed Monday from a Maryland county court to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
