Law360, New York (July 01, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A state judge has found that Wal-Mart Inc. breached Minnesota labor laws more than 2 million times by shortening employees’ break time and intentionally permitting workers to perform duties off the clock.
Wal-Mart was ordered to pay $6.5 million in compensatory damages to a class of employees by Judge Robert King Jr. of the Dakota County District Court on Monday, but the company may have to pay more than $2 billion if a jury finds it is also liable for civil penalties and punitive damages....
