Discrimination Issues Playing On Center Court

Law360, New York (July 30, 2015, 5:56 PM EDT) -- For years, I have represented Certain Underwriters at Lloyds London. Going to London is always a treat, and I have tried to make my trip coincide with the Wimbledon tennis tournament. Most recently, there has been commentary on the disparate treatment between the men's and women's games, but not in regard to the money for winning. Several years ago, the women made the argument that they should be paid as much as men because their game was at least as entertaining as the men's game. Several of my partners (both male and female) say "more entertaining." If that is the case, then one fact of the game is inexplicable — the men play on the center court far more than the women....
