Boston Globe Hit With Labor Suit Over Missed Breaks

Law360, New York (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The Boston Globe has been accused of labor law violations in a purported class action by mail room workers who say they were deprived of breaks and were not paid the corresponding overtime compensation they should have received.

The Globe Newspaper Co. Inc., the newspaper's publisher, is the defendant in the lawsuit, and on Wednesday it removed the litigation to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. The suit was originally filed on Jan. 5 in the Superior Court Department of the Trial Court...
