DOL Issues Early Guidelines On COBRA Subsidy

Law360, New York (March 03, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has posted some preliminary guidance on how the COBRA subsidy recently passed by Congress as part of the economic stimulus package should be handled by employers, but noted that more guidance is still being prepared.

The COBRA program gives workers who lose their employer-sponsored health benefits the right to continue those same benefits for a limited period of time under certain conditions.
