FERC OKs Funding Plan For US-Canada Power Line

Law360, New York (May 27, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved a financing arrangement for a major electricity transmission project that would deliver low-cost hydropower from Quebec to New England.

The project, approved by FERC on May 21, would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 4 million to 6 million tons of carbon dioxide per year by displacing gas-fired generation and would supply around 1 million New England homes with low-carbon power.
