The Climate Change And Clean Energy Bill

Law360, New York (July 08, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- On June 26, 2009, the United States House of Representatives narrowly passed a climate change and clean energy bill, H.R. 2454, known as the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (“ACES”).

Introduced by Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Environment Edward Markey, D-Mass., the approximately 1,500-page bill is the first piece of legislation approved by either body of Congress curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
