Insurer, Others Fight To Sue EPA Over Oil Well Blast

Law360, New York (December 07, 2009, 3:25 PM ET) -- Lexington Insurance Co., two energy services companies and a man seriously injured in an oil well explosion have asked a federal judge to allow them to pursue claims against federal environmental authorities that handled cleanup from the blast, saying the agencies are holding up insurance payouts.

Lexington; Superior Well Services Inc.; Griffith Services LLC; and the injured man, Jonathan Vann, filed motions Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee asking Judge Thomas A. Varlan to reconsider his dismissal of the U.S....
