Law360, New York (January 16, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Oil giant British Petroleum did not stress the importance of process safety enough at its U.S. refineries prior to a 2005 Texas plant explosion that killed 15 and injured 170, according to a report released by an independent review panel.
On Tuesday, the 11-member group, led by former U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker III, published a nearly 400-page report that included a harsh assessment of BP’s previous and ongoing safety weaknesses at U.S. refineries.
