Law360, New York (May 12, 2010, 4:28 PM ET) -- Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., has asked the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to put a hold on Massey Energy Co.'s mining permit application for a recently acquired site in the state pending the resolution of worker safety issues following a fatal explosion at a mine in West Virginia.
The move came in the wake of a bankruptcy court's approval for the sale of the Mon View Mining Co. Mathies Mine in Washington County, Pa., to Massey, Casey said Tuesday.
