Law360, New York (August 12, 2010, 1:32 PM ET) -- The AES Corp. announced Thursday the completion of its $160 million deal with BG Energy Holdings to acquire Premier Power Ltd. and its 1,246-megawatt natural gas-fired Ballylumford Power Station in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
The acquisition expands AES’ operating capacity in Northern Ireland to 1,868 megawatts, or 15 percent of the Single Electricity Market, which covers both Northern Ireland and Ireland, the Arlington, Va.-based company said in a statement.
