Law360, New York (March 27, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The European Union's energy commissioner has repeated his opposition to an OPEC-style natural gas cartel among producing countries, echoing his American counterpart in saying that such a cartel could make the gas market less reliable.
Commissioner Andris Piebalg’s comments, aimed at natural gas producers like Russia and Algeria, followed a speech delivered Monday at the European Institute in Washington, D.C. on enhancing cooperation between the E.U. and the U.S.
