House Panel Blasts US Grip Over Wartime Fuel Deals

Law360, New York (December 23, 2010, 5:56 PM ET) -- The federal government has failed to properly oversee multibillion-dollar fuel contracts in Kyrgyzstan that support the war effort in nearby Afghanistan, according to a report from a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee.

The report, titled “Mystery at Manas: Strategic Blind Spots in the Department of Defense's Fuel Contracts in Kyrgyzstan,” was released Tuesday by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's national security and foreign affairs subcommittee.
