FTC Head Calls For Transparency In Energy Policies

Law360, New York (April 09, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Amid the nation’s growing demand for energy, the head of the Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday called for better communication between regulators and the American public concerning the role of competition in energy markets.

In opening remarks at a Washington, D.C. conference on competition policy in energy markets, FTC Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras said the FTC has a duty to conduct thorough investigations in the energy industry and present the results accurately and dispassionately to American consumers.
