Law360, New York (April 17, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice and New Hampshire have reached a $74 million settlement with 101 parties that are potentially liable for seriously contaminating an oil waste site over the 70-plus years it was in use.
According to the agreement, about $48 million will go towards cleanup at the Beede Waste Oil Superfund Site in Plaistow, N.H., the DOJ said Monday. An additional $9 million will be used for future federal and state oversight costs, and $17 million will pay for federal and state agencies’ past...
