NY AG Targets Entergy Over Nuclear Power Plant Safety

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 5:46 PM ET) -- New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman on Monday asked the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to take enforcement action against Entergy Corp. for failing to ensure that its Indian Point nuclear power plant would be able to shut down during a fire emergency.

In a petition filed with the NRC, Schneiderman claimed that Indian Point — located 24 miles north of New York City — was violating fire safety regulations and seeking more than 100 exemptions.
