DOJ Says It Won't Intervene In Vermont Yankee Suit

Law360, New York (August 09, 2011, 7:11 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday it would not intervene at this time in a suit brought by two Entergy Corp. units seeking to stop Vermont from closing the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant when its license expires in March 2012.

Entergy Nuclear Operations Inc. and Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee LLC are challenging the state's authority to shut down the plant in Vermont federal court.
