Texas Regulator Slams EPA Emissions Rule

Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 2:25 PM ET) -- The Texas Railroad Commission on Tuesday urged the state's attorney general to take “prompt legal action” to halt the implementation of a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency rule aimed at cutting power plant emissions that contribute to cross-state ozone and fine particle pollution.

The Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, which replaces the 2005 Clean Air Interstate Rule, requires 27 states to reduce power plant emissions that travel across state lines beginning Jan. 1, in order to improve air quality throughout the eastern half of the U.S. Texas faces...
