Law360, New York (March 06, 2012, 4:21 PM ET) -- Amid complaints from the AARP and a state regulatory board, the U.S. Justice Department on Tuesday asked a New York federal court to approve a $4.8 million settlement with Morgan Stanley over a KeySpan Corp. derivative contract that allegedly drove up energy prices.
The settlement, first announced in September, would end the DOJ's case against Morgan Stanley, the government's court filing said. The DOJ had claimed the bank signed a derivative agreement with KeySpan that effectively combined the energy provider with one of its main rivals...
