Shell Preps For Arctic Drilling With Fed Approval Of Spill Plan

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 5:03 PM ET) -- Shell Gulf of Mexico Inc. on Wednesday clinched approval from the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement for its oil spill response plan for the Beaufort Sea, moving a step closer to starting offshore drilling in the Arctic this summer.

BSEE's approval for the Beaufort Sea spill plan comes a little more than a month after the BSEE greenlighted the Shell's oil spill response plan for the nearby Chukchi Sea.
