Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 2:01 PM ET) -- TransCanada Corp. proposed new routes for its Keystone XL pipeline Wednesday that it claimed would bypass an environmentally sensitive area in Nebraska, as the company seeks to resurrect the project after it was rejected by the Obama administration.
TransCanada filed a report with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality identifying alternative routes for the pipeline that circumvent the Sand Hills. The Ogallala Aquifer, a water table that provides much of the state's irrigation and drinking water, sits just below the Sand Hills' surface.
