Toshiba Gets $315M Generator Contract For Indian Plant

Law360, New York (May 09, 2012, 7:11 PM ET) -- Japan's Toshiba Corp. landed a $315 million contract to provide two 660-megawatt steam turbines and generators for the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Plant, a 4,000-MW project in northern India, according to an announcement Wednesday.

Toshiba will build the equipment in Japan and at its four-year-old Chennai manufacturing facility, with the first unit scheduled to become operational in two years, and the second one to follow six months after that, according to a statement Toshiba issued Wednesday.
