Newark Planners Greenlight Hess' $750M Plant Proposal

Law360, New York (May 10, 2012, 8:25 PM ET) -- Hess Corp. cleared the first hurdle in its bid to build a $750 million, 655-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in New Jersey's biggest city as the Newark Central Planning Board voted 6-1 to approve the project Thursday night.

The proposal for the Newark Energy Center now will go to the city council, while project company Hess NEC LLC seeks federal and state approval for the plant.
