Gulf South Says Insurer Must Pay For $4.5M Fluid Leak

Law360, New York (June 08, 2012, 4:33 PM ET) -- Oil and gas drilling company Gulf South Operators Inc. is seeking to make an underwriter at Lloyd's of London cover a $4.5 million claim over leaking drilling fluid at one of its wells, in a suit moved to Louisiana federal court Friday.

Gulf South claims in a suit originally filed in Louisiana state court in April that Chaucer Syndicate Ltd., a Lloyd's underwriter specializing in energy coverage, breached a policy it issued to the oil company by refusing to cover the damages.
