San Diego Utility To Pay $27M To Snuff City's Wildfire Suit

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 10:42 PM ET) -- The city of San Diego and Sempra Energy's San Diego Gas & Electric reached a $27 million settlement Tuesday, resolving a lawsuit brought against the utility in the aftermath of the 2007 wildfires that raged in and around California's second-largest city.

Without admitting fault or liability, SDG&E will pay $27 million to settle the city's claims, a deal that is in the best interest of the parties and the public, according to a joint statement. The agreement does not affect pending claims by other parties....
