GOP Probe Of Offshore Drilling Ban Reaches Interior IG

Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 5:05 PM ET) -- A federal watchdog panel agreed Thursday to address claims by congressional Republicans that the Interior Department's inspector general interfered with a probe of the 2010 offshore drilling moratorium the agency imposed following the 2010 Macondo oil spill.

The Integrity Committee of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency began meeting last week to determine whether DOI Acting Inspector General Mary Kendall should have recused herself from her office’s investigation of a DOI report on the moratorium due to conflicts of interest.
