Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 7:28 PM ET) -- Alaska’s Republican senator called on the Obama administration Friday to make clear whether it intends to protect Shell Offshore Inc.’s planned drilling operations in the Arctic this summer from protests by environmental activists, warning they could pose safety risks.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski sent a pair of letters to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration asking whether the agencies would ensure protest activities by Greenpeace don’t interfere with drilling safety or disturb environmental resources.
