JPMorgan Says Emails FERC Wants In Bid Probe Are Privileged

Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 10:18 PM ET) -- JPMorgan Ventures Energy Corp. on Friday told a Washington federal court that emails requested by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which is probing whether the company employed bidding practices designed to manipulate California and Midwest electricity markets, are protected by attorney-client privilege.

The 25 emails requested by FERC deals with the advice of counsel with respect to the investigation, JPMorgan said in a response to the court's show-cause order.
