Oil Field Co. Says Apache Contractor Sought Kickbacks

Law360, Houston (August 17, 2012, 7:23 PM ET) -- An oil field services company launched a suit in Texas court Thursday, alleging it was dismissed as a subcontractor on an offshore well decommissioning project for Apache Corp. because it wouldn’t participate in a kickback scheme with a general contractor.

Stallion Oilfield Services Inc., claims it was unexpectedly replaced by Stagg Marine Inc. and Stagg Marine Transportation LLC, after Stagg principals Tommy and Jed Angelle allegedly conspired with the project’s general contractor to create a kickback scheme. Apache is not named in the suit.
