NYC Urges FERC To OK Generator Funding For Blackouts

Law360, New York (September 21, 2012, 6:57 PM ET) -- New York City offered its support in a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceeding Friday to New York Independent System Operator Inc.’s proposed $13 million to $15 million yearly payments to power stations that provide restoration services during an electric blackout.

The city filed a motion to intervene backing the NYISO’s proposed revisions to Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc.’s local plan to restore electric service to the city in the event of a blackout.
