Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 5:10 PM ET) -- Moroccan government officials said Monday that the country is awarding a $1 billion contract for a 160-megawatt solar power plant to a consortium of companies led by Saudi firm ACWA Power International, according to multiple media reports.
Mustapha Bakkoury, president of the Moroccan Solar Energy Agency, said in a news conference Monday that the Saudi-led group will be responsible for the construction, design, maintenance, operation and finance of the proposed concentrated solar plant, to be built near the city of Ouarzazate in southern Morocco.
