Law360, Philadelphia (October 17, 2012, 1:49 PM ET) -- The Pennsylvania Senate unanimously approved legislation Monday that would encourage the use of wastewater from mining operations for Marcellus Shale well development.
The bill absolves mine operators and landowners from any liability or damages that might arise from taking wastewater generated from mines and reusing it to conduct hydraulic fracturing activities, as long as they receive project approval.
